The University of Louisville Procurement Services, on behalf of University Planning, Design, and Construction (UPDC) is requesting bids from a qualified contractor for the renovation of Anatomy Classroom 212 from a laboratory to a lecture room. Contractors are to bid per the contract documents, drawings, specifications, and exhibits included herein (see below). Constructed in 1968, Life Sciences is a 99,832-square-foot, three-story building with a basement and mechanical penthouse. The primary use of the building is for academic instruction and support services. Scope of Work o Asbestos Abatement - the University Has Had an Initial Asbestos Survey Completed, However Has Not Retained an Asbestos Abatement Contractor. The Contractor Shall Retain a Certified Asbestos Abatement Contractor for the Necessary Asbestos Abatement Scope. o Removal of Existing Flooring and Base and Install New. o New Metal Stud Wall o One New 4x4 Hm Window Installed in the Newly Installed Wall o New Door to Be Installed in the Newly Installed Wall o Remove the Existing Finish Ceiling to Include All Metal Framing, Supports, Bulkheads, and Soffits, and Install New. o New Lighting o New Window Shades on Existing Windows o Remove Existing Casework and Associated Wall-mounted Accessories. Installation of New Casework to Be Coordinated With Owner Identified Vendor o Associated Demo of Existing Terminals and Ductwork Downstream of Terminals o Associated Duct Work Remaining in the Room Shall Be Cleaned, Disinfected, and Sealed. The Duct Shall Be Capped for Future Hvac Renovation Project o All Horizontal Hhwa and Hwwr Piping to Be Removed Completely and Replaced With New o Remove the Existing Thermostat and Replace It With New o Select Electrical Work o Select Life Safety System Work addendum #1-#3 have been issued as of 3-5-2024.
