Question Deadline 02/20/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. On request, and to the extent Owner has control over the Site, Owner will provide Bidder access to the Site to conduct such examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, and studies as Bidder deems necessary for submission of a Bid. Owner will not have any obligation to grant such access if doing so is not practical because of existing operations, security or safety concerns, or restraints on Owners authority regarding the Site. The major work consists of the following items: Approximately 1,869 linear feet of 8-inch watermain, 1,925 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer, 364 linear feet of 15-inch storm sewer, 528 linear feet of 18-inch storm sewer, 5,596 square yards of turf restoration, 3,582 linear feet of curb and gutter removal, 907 square yards of pavement removal, and all appurtenant work. DBEs, including MBEs and WBEs, are encouraged to submit bid proposals. BID SECURITY: A bid bond or certified check, payable to the City of Verona, in the amount of not less than 5% or more than 10% of the Bid shall accompany each Bid as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish 100% performance and payment bonds within 15 days after notice of award of the contract by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous to the City best interest. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for a period of 60 days after the time and date set for the opening thereof.
