SITE 47-1 500 8TH STREET, 801, 803 AND 815 CHESTNUT, BENLD, ILLINOIS Asbestos Abatement Contractor (AAC ) remove attached fittings, fixtures and casework, all drywall and building insulation. General Contractor administer AAC, remove Appliances, equipment and fixtures not attached to ceilings or walls, interior doors, window treatments, wiring, ductwork and piping, etc. GC remove and reinstall exterior doors as required. A. Scope of pre-demolition and abatement work is indicated on drawings. B. Scope of demolition and removal work is indicated on drawings. C. Renovate the following areas, complete including operational mechanical and electrical work and finishes: 1. Interior at 500 8th street and 801, 803 and 815 Chestnut Street. 2. Unit 500 is unoccupied, but adjacent unit is not. Provide barriers and sound control as required to allow continued occupancy of adjacent unit.. D. Plumbing: Remove existing and cap service entrance.. 1. Work includes above remove grade waste, vent and supply piping, water heater, remove gas lines to main entrance. 2. Cap water and gas at service entrance and waste piping at floor. Block floor drains. 3. Cut off vent piping below roof sheathing. E. HVAC: Remove existing and cap penetrations.. 1. Remove ductwork, vents, etc. as shown. 2. Pump down coolant and remove condenser from roof. Cap roof penetration. F. Electrical Power and Lighting: Remove existing and cap service entrance.. 1. Remove light fixtures and devices in walls and above ceiling, including fire detectors. 2. Remove wiring and boxes in walls and above ceiling 3. Cut off wiring at exterior fixtures inside building. 4. Remove low voltage and communication wiring and plug penetrations 5. Existing meter and service drop to remain. G. MCHA may remove the following items before start of work: 1. Appliances. 2. Equipment. 3. Fixtures. The Project consists of the interior partial demolition & asbestos abatement of 4 housing units at Site 47-1, Benld, Illinois consisting of the following outline scope:. Asbestos Abatement Contractor (AAC ) remove attached fittings, fixtures and casework, all drywall and building insulation. General Contractor administer AAC, remove appliances, equipment and fixtures not attached to ceilings or walls, interior doors, window treatments, wiring, ductwork and piping, etc. GC remove and reinstall exterior doors as required. AAC may act as GC.
