Location of Work : Quinebaug River Trail Multi Use Path - Phase V: 100 Beatrice Ave, Danielson, CT 06239 Continue the Quinebaug River Trail from existing terminus at Gloria Avenue southwesterly 2600 feet +/- to Quandock Brook. The Town of KILLINGLY reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids in part or in whole, to waive informalities, to independently determine the qualifications of the bidder, to check references, and to determine the lowest responsible and qualified bidder based upon its own investigation. The bidder's attention is especially directed to the liquidated damages previously outlined at $800.00 per calendar day. Liquidated damages will be levied beginning on the one hundred twenty (121st) calendar day after the date of the notice to proceed unless the Town of Killingly grants an extension in writing. This contract is subject to CHRO state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Where insurance is required to be carried it shall be done in the name of the Town and the Town shall be held harmless. The successful bidder is required to start within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of the Notice to Proceed and all work, including cleanup and removal of all tools and equipment, must be completed within one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days beginning on the date of the notice to proceed. The Notice to Proceed will not be issued until all parties have a clear understanding of material availability. A surety company bid bond, for 5 % of the amount of the bid must accompany each bid; a certified check made out to the Town of Killingly will be accepted. The successful bidder, at the time of the execution of the Contract, shall furnish a performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract prices as security for the faithful performance of this contract and also a payment bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this contract. All bonds shall be in the forms prescribed by Law or Regulation and be acceptable to the Town. Surety companies executing bonds must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Connecticut. Bidder shall provide evidence that surety company is licensed to conduct business in the State of Connecticut. All sureties shall be in full force throughout the guarantee period and until the retainage is released. Question Deadline 02/22/2024 Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing, addressed to the Director of Engineering and Facilities, 172 Main St. Killingly, Connecticut 06239. To be given consideration, such requests must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
