This project will renovate exterior elements of the Flume Visitors Center. In Phase 1, the wood, pedestrian entrance bridge will have structural repairs and be re-decked. In Phase 2, the south deck will have the railings replaced and be re-decked. The project is being done in phases because it is critical to complete the entrance bridge work before the visitors center opens for the season. Therefore, the Phase 1 work has an early completion date. Work on both phases may begin on the same date, but Phase 1 only has a 3-week period for construction. A Bid Bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total amount of the lump sum bid price shall accompany each Bid Proposal in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders shall be required to provide the Owner with financial responsibility as security for the completion of the contract in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents, in the form of a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of One Hundred (100%) Percent of the contract award, if the contract award is seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) or more, the cost of which shall be a part of the Base Bid. The form of bond and the surety shall be acceptable to the Commissioner. No contract bond shall be required on contract awards of less than seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000). START DATE: April 15, 2024 COMPLETION DATE: Phase 1 May 3, 2024, Phase 2 June 20, 2024 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: All funds are subject to statutory requirements that they must be used for costs incurred by the recipient during the period that begins on March 3, 2021, and ends on December 31, 2024, and that award funds for the financial obligations incurred by December 31, 2024 must be expended by December 31, 2026. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
