The TDSB is engaged each year in a multi-million-dollar program of renewal and replacement of mechanical and electrical building services located across the City of Toronto, in approx 590 buildings; the bulk of renewal and replacement work takes place in buildings which are 35 or more years old. A Request for Prequalification has been issued by the owner. The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is soliciting submissions for Professional Commissioning Services to provide prequalification services on an "as needed" basis for facility renewal projects. The intent is to select firms to provide services on a project-by-project basis based on the scope of work. The successful proponent(s) will become part of the Prequalified bidders of qualified vendors for commissioning services on an as-and-when-required basis to support the implementation of mechanical and electrical renewal/replacement projects in existing buildings.
The over-all role of the prequalified Commissioning bidders will be to verify and document that for an assigned project, building systems are designed, installed, functionally tested, free of deficiencies and capable of being operated and maintained to perform as intended by the design and requirements of the users and spaces as outlined in Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical specifications and drawings.
The prequalified Commissioning bidders shall ensure that the systems are properly turned over from the Contractor to the TDSB Facility Services department.
Term of contract will be a (3) three year term with options to extend for two (2) additional twelve-month extension options. At the discretion of TDSB the contracts will be reviewed and may have an annual refresh. Pre-Qualification entails various Mandatory Requirements and Evaluation Criteria detailed within the documentation.
