Lump sum The Work is to supply all equipment, labor and materials to complete sweeping on approximately 35 lane kilometres of municipal roadway, various intersections, and parking lots. Locations:
A list of locations can be found in appendix 'A' of this Request for Quotation document. A PDF Map or map book of the Township can be made available to help identify the locations of work. The map or map book will not be pre-marked with the locations.
Equipment Requirements: High dump mechanical sweepers are required to allow for dumping directly into a tandem
axel gravel dump box.
Sweepers must be equipped with gutter brooms on both sides.
Water must be used at all times while sweeping. The contractor must supply their own water.
Specific performance requirements:
Roads must be swept from edge of asphalt to edge of asphalt on all roads identified. Where curb and gutter are present, all material must be removed from the gutter and from the face of the curb.
All work must be completed by May 15th of each calendar year. If this completion date can not be met, the Contractor must request an extension, in writing, no less than five (5) working day prior to May 15th.
A certified cheque made payable to the Township in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount must be submitted one (1) week after notice of award is received by the successful Contractor. The cheque will be retained by the Township for the duration of the Contract and until the work identified in the RFQ has been completed to the satisfaction of the Township.
If the successful Contractor wishes, they may file with the Township a completed performance bond, signed and sealed by a recognized bonding company, in the amount of 100% of the total bid. Upon receipt of such a bond, the bid deposit will be returned to the contractor. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
