Site work for a mixed-use development in Bassett, Virginia. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.
As of March 15, 2024, bids were rejected due to lack of participation and over the budget. Project will be rebid but no definite date yet. Hillcrest Park Water Line Replacement- Phase I The project consists of replacement of existing water mains along Westover Drive, Hedgemore Lane, and Stephenson Street with approximately 2,369 LF of new 6" lines and appurtenances, reconnection of existing services, and related work. If a contract is for one hundred twenty thousand dollars (SI 20,000) or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any twelve-month period is seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) or more, the bidder is required under Title 54, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class A Contractor." If a contract is ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or more, but less than one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000), the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class B Contractor." There is no Pre-Bid Conference scheduled for the project.
