The purpose of this Request for Bids (RFB) is to solicit licensed General Contractors to undertake stabilization, dock construction, and erosion control measures at Ronnie Van Zant Park, situated at 2760 Sandridge Rd, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Question Deadline 03/04/2024 at 12:00 AM ET Last Date of Inquiries Bidders shall submit all inquiries regarding this RFB in the "Question and Answer" tab of the RFB. See "Inquiries/Questions" in the "Instructions to Bidders" below for more information. Project must be completed by September 30, 2024. The Contractor shall be assessed Liquidated Damages (LD) of $200.00 for each day past final completion date set by the contract. If the awarded Contractor fails to maintain acceptable product quality or to perform adequately in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications established in this Request for Bid, the County reserves the right to cancel the contract upon thirty (30) days written notice to the Contractor. The subject site is a park with open fields, small buildings and courts and park facilities, and asphalt and gravel parking and drive areas. A pond is located near the northwest portion of the park. The pond is approximately 2.7 acres and has a small island. There are 5 fishing docks located around the pond. Based on our observations the banks of the pond have generally encountered some erosion which generally appears to be related to wave action/ fluctuation in water level with some areas where surface erosion or possible slope instability were observed. The areas with surface erosion/ slope instability were generally observed in the south portion of the pond. Near the north portion of the pond a flow channel was observed through the bank flowing to the east. See the attached photographs in the appendix for typical observed erosion.
