The City of Avondale (the "City") Public Works Department is seeking a licensed and qualified Contractor to provide Vulcan Liquifuge Sludge Thickener Maintenance, Inspection & Repair Services on an as-needed basis for a period of one year, with four renewable one-year options. Final Date for Inquiries:February 14, 2024, 11:00am The Purpose The aim of this Request for Quotation (RFQ) is to secure a Contractor who can offer services and repairs for two (2) Vulcan Liquifuge Sludge Thickeners when needed. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all the necessary labor, equipment, tools, and expertise to ensure that the equipment operates efficiently and maintains its performance levels. Please note that the City does not guarantee any specific number of orders to be placed under the resulting contract. Scope of Work Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of the Liquifuge Sludge Thickener to identify any visible damage, leaks, or worn-out components. Check the electrical connections and controls to ensure proper functioning. Annual maintenance & inspection: Perform servicing tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and tightening loose components as per the manufacturer's guidelines. Replace any worn-out or damaged parts. Inspect and clean the sludge discharge system and ensure proper alignment of the scraper mechanism. Verify the correct operation of the sludge level sensors and adjust as necessary. Clean and inspect the drive system, including the motor, gearbox, and drive belts. Conduct a performance test after servicing to verify proper functioning. Must schedule the annual maintenance & inspection with the City 30 days prior to servicing. Repairs: Identify and troubleshoot any operational issues or malfunctions. Determine the root cause of the problem and propose a repair plan. Replace, rebuild or repair faulty components. Ensure all repaired/rebuilt parts are properly tested and calibrated before installation. Conduct a final performance test to verify the effectiveness of the repairs. Documentation: Maintain a detailed record of all servicing and repair activities performed, including dates, tasks, and parts replaced. Provide a comprehensive report summarizing the condition of the Liquifuge Sludge Thickener before and after servicing and repairs. Include recommendations for future maintenance to optimize the equipment's performance and prolong its lifespan. Project Cost Estimate: Before commencing each project, the Contractor shall provide the City with a quotation for an estimated number of hours needed and a not-to-exceed ceiling price.
