The City of Portsmouth is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide Grounds Maintenance services to various Cemeterys. This contract will be for a period of one (1) year with the option of four (4) additional renewal years, for a total of five (5) years. At such time the question(s) will be taken to the proper contact in the requesting Department. The questions(s) along with a written response will be given to all bidders who have been sent a bid package. If the question(s) result in a direct change in the bid, an addendum will be immediately distributed. c.The attached RECEIPT OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS should be attached to the bidders bid package, otherwise the bid their bid may be considered non-responsive. The term of this contract shall be for a period 1 year commencing Date of Award and terminating after One year with up to 4 additional 1-year renewals, subject to appropriations and written agreement of the parties. Contractor shall provide the specified grounds maintenance services to designated City of Portsmouth Cemeteries, as per the following specifications, attached maps, Bid Price Schedules and field markings. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment, as necessary to provide complete and continuous grounds maintenance services specified herein. The City owns several cemeteries that are currently managed by the Department of Parks & Recreation. However, individual burial plots are privately owned, and the sale of Cemetery Plots, Liners, and Headstone Settings will not be a part of this contract This public body does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, 2.2-4343.1 or against a bidder or offeror because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment. Bidder is required to complete enclosed W-9 form and return with bid response. Bids not inclusive of a completed W-9 may not be considered. Initial Period of Contract: From Date of Award Through One Year . At the end of the 90 days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the Bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled F.The City reserves the right to cancel the Invitation to Bid and to reject any or all bids in whole or in part whenever the Purchasing Administrator or designee determines that such action is in the best interest of the City.
