Deadline for written questions and clarifications on RFQ: March 1, 2024 BCS will select the two most-highly qualified Design-Builder respondents, and will open negotiations with the most-highly qualified Design-Builder (selectee), for the contract delivery of the Project, consisting of multiple phases: Phases include the HVAC and Controls renovation of North Buncombe High School, approximately 201,000 sqft, to start summer of 2024 and conclude winter of 2026. North Buncombe High School is located at 890 Clarks Chapel Road. Weaverville, NC 28787. The Design-Builder's scope of work will include: o Pre-construction project planning including assistance in the preparation of a schedule, preliminary cost estimate and value engineering measures. Make submissions to all regulatory agencies and obtain permits. o Prepare architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical design plans based on the BCS Criteria documents. o Building Design: building plan configuration, structural and roof systems, building reflected ceiling plans. o Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing design including systems, equipment and calculations, energy and performance modeling, systems review, coordination and integration to include all utilities and controls. o Development and refinement of cost estimates and project schedules. o Collaborating with the BCS staff to best determine the facility layout and functionality to most effectively maintain the programming needs of the school.
