The State of Oregon, acting by and through the Department of Fish and Wildlife, is issuing this Request for Proposal for a Contractor to provide an at-sea research platform (vessel) to perform hook-and-line fishing at various sites near Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve, in depths ranging from approximately 30-120 feet. Contractor agrees to provide an at-sea research platform (vessel) to perform hook-andline fishing at various sites near Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve, in depths ranging from approximately 30-120 feet. The departure/return port for all operations is Newport, Oregon. Eight (8) vessel days (vessel day = approximately 8 hours/day) are estimated to be needed for hook-and-line surveys. Fishing will occur during four (4) vessel days during spring/early summer (i.e., April - early June) and four (4) days in fall (i.e., August-October). This effort will be compressed into as short a time-frame as possible, ideally consecutive days as allowable due to weather and logistics. Fishing will occur over hard bottom substrate at a variety of depths. No fish encountered shall be retained for the purpose of consumption. This contract extends from April 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.
