New Middle School Weaver & Jacobs Constructors, Inc. intends to subcontract with companies to provide Construction Services for the furnishing, fabrication, construction, and/or installation of the scope of work outlined in the construction documents. The work includes but is not limited to earthwork, site utilities, asphaltic paving, chain link fence and gates, termite control, concrete, pavement markings, masonry, miscellaneous metals, railings, rough carpentry, waterproofing, damp-proofing, sealants, insulation, metal panels, metal panels, roofing, hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, overhead coiling doors, aluminum storefront, curtainwall and window systems, gypsum board assemblies, acoustical systems, tile, VCT, carpeting, wood floors, resinous flooring system, stained concrete floors, concrete floor sealer, painting, plastic laminate, toilet room specialties, louvers, marker boards/tack boards, graphics and signage, aluminum canopies, fire extinguishers, audio visual equipment, horizontal and backbone cable system, casework/millwork, music storage, blinds, plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, fire alarm, fire sprinkler system, electronic security, electric access controls, video surveillance, and all related work as defined by the documents included herein. This project consists of a new 79,381 square foot ground-up middle school building on an 18.5-acregreenfield site located in Goliad, Texas. The Middle School will accommodate Grades 6 through 8. The project site will have fenced athletic fields. There will be 2 vehicle entries that accommodate separate bus and parent drop-off / pick-up, and parking lots will be connected to each of the driveways. The project requires all new infrastructure to be run to the site from Church Street to the East and Ward Street to the North. There will be two main areas of the building: academic and athletic. These two sides will be split by a 2-hour rated fire wall. The two-hour rated fire wall will have double egress doors that will be open during school hours. For gym related events, during non-school hours, those doors will act as a lockable barrier/fail safe exit to the academic side of the building. There will be no storm shelter in the school. The gym entry will be located on the north side of the building and the main school entrance will be located on the East. The main entry will lead to the office and administration area. The west side of the building will be considered the "back of house" area which will be used for a fenced parking lot. Students will use the west side of the building to spill out onto the athletic fields. The South side of the building will have a fenced courtyard. Science, art, and other specials will have doors leading to this South side hardscaped and landscaped courtyard.
