Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Chillicothe, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
Bath Renovations at Sherman Park and Lincoln Park A certified check or bank draft, payable to the Chillicothe Metropolitan Housing Authority, Par Value U.S. Government bonds or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by Section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. Attention is called to the provisions for equal employment opportunity, and payment of not less than the prevailing salaries and wages, as set forth in the Contract Documents, that must be adhered to on this project. The Chillicothe Metropolitan Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Chillicothe Metropolitan Housing Authority. The work involves bathroom renovations at Sherman Park and Lincoln Park Sites. a. SHERMAN PARK-OH24-04, 512 Sherman Park, Chillicothe, Ohio: Consisting of 61 family units in 11 buildings, in addition to a Community Building. The unit mix is comprised of 20 - two-bedroom units, 33 - three bedroom units, 6 - four bedroom units and 2 - five-bedroom units. OBC Use Group R-3. Type 5-B construction. b. LINCOLN PARK-OH24-04, 909 Lincoln Park, Chillicothe, Ohio: Consisting of 43 family units in 8 buildings, in addition to a Community Building. The unit mix is comprised of 8 - one-bedroom units, 12 - twobedroom units, 19 - three-bedroom units, 2 - four-bedroom units and 2 - five-bedroom units. OBC Use Group R-3. Type 5-B construction. BATHROOM RENOVATIONS AT SHERMAN PARK AND LINCOLN PARK Remodel Baths at 8 one-bedroom apartments, 32 two-bedroom apartments, 52 threebedroom apartments, 8 four-bedroom apartments and 4 five-bedroom apartments. 1. Remove existing vanity cabinets, countertops, sinks, shutoff valves, traps, water supply lines at lavatory, bath accessories, medicine cabinets, mirrors, light fixtures, exhaust fans, wall mounted sinks, linen closet wall and door in selected bathrooms, etc., at all units scheduled for work. 2. Remove existing bathtubs, mixing valves and shower heads at all apartments. 3. Remove existing shower walls, shower pans and shower doors at all first-floor bathrooms in the five-bedroom apartments. 4. Remove existing flooring, floor decking to structure, and base in second floor bathrooms. 5. Remove all flooring in first floor bathrooms. 6. Remove all existing drywall at walls in bathrooms and remove damage drywall ceiling in the room below the second floor bathrooms. Extent of drywall removed in room below bathroom will be determined in the field. A unit cost will be provided on the form of bid. 7. Inspect all water lines, sanitary lines and HVAC ductwork in the floor structure as required and repair / replace as required. 8. Install blocking in wall behind all wall mounted accessories including paper holder, soap, toothbrush, towel bars and any grab bars. 9. Install new floor decking at second floor bathrooms and install new vinyl sheet flooring and vinyl base in all remodeled areas. Caulk intersections at tubs and showers. Caulk joint between new flooring and wall prior to installation of new vinyl base. 10. Install new 5/8" moisture resistant drywall on all walls and ceilings removed. Provide 5/8" moisture resistant type "X" gypsum board at all common walls. 11. Contractor is to check all electrical outlets in baths to verify that they are GFIs. All receptacles, switches and wall plates are to be replaced. 12. Install new exhaust fan/light in location as noted on the plans and/or where existing. Tie to existing circuit. 13. Install new light fixture above bathroom sinks in new or relocated positions. 14. Paint all walls and ceilings within bathrooms. 15. Install new vanity cabinets. Kicks at vanity cabinets are to be prefinished to match cabinet fronts or vinyl base. Vanity plumbing will be relocated in the three-bedroom apartments. 16. Install new tub as required and new tub surround. 17. Install new toilets. 18. Install new linen closet door, trims and 16" deep wire shelving, (qty. 5 shelves) at all two-bedroom bathrooms. 19. Install new HVAC diffusers. 20. Install new door trims at all existing bathroom doors on bathroom side to match existing. 21. Install new neo-angle shower base, glass enclosure, mixing valves and shower heads at all first-floor bathrooms at five-bedroom apartments. 22. Install new wall mounted corner sink and faucet as all four-bedroom first floor bathrooms. 23. Install new toilet accessories and specified herein. Blocking is to be installed in vanity cabinet behind any cabinet mounted toilet paper dispenser. Surface mounted blocking is to be stained to match cabinet. 24. Remove all construction debris from areas of work, clean and leave site in a manner that is acceptable to the Housing Authority. 25. Instruct the Housing Authority staff in routine repairs and maintenance of the new materials. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation orinterpretation of the solicitation, specifications, drawings, etc., must request it at least 7 days before the scheduled time for bid opening.
