Site work for a road / highway in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
PAVEMENT MILLING/OVERLAY a) This project involves: i. Repairing the concrete sidewalk/curb as required and specified within the RFP ii. Milling the existing pavement surface to a depth of about 50mm and hauling the milled asphalt to the Municipal Operations Building at 1 Industrial Drive in Sylvan Lake, Alberta iii. The application of tack coat on the road surface iv. The repaving of the road surface to provide a minimum 1% crown using asphaltic concrete while ensuring that there is no "ponding" of water within the paved surface v. The grade adjustment of any manholes and water valves, if required vi. The layout and installation of durable road markings matching the existing road marking configuration, unless otherwise specified, inlaid within the pavement surface b) The proponent is responsible for submitting a Traffic Interruption Permit with the Town for any work that interrupts pedestrian or traffic flow c) This project is to be completed in full prior to September 1, 2024 d) Weight tickets showing the tonnage of asphalt used on this project must be submitted daily upon request, or the Town may choose to provide a staff member on-site to collect the weight tickets at the Town's discretion e) All road markings are to be of the thermoplastic type and must be installed within ten (10) days upon completion of paving. Temporary road marking must be installed immediately upon completion of paving if there is a delay for the installation of the permanent markings CONCRETE REPAIR a) Sawcut and remove the faulty concrete sections as marked in white paint, in the approximate quantities as specified in the Rate Form b) There are two (2) general types of repair; a. Remove sidewalk pane(s) only leaving curb in place b. Remove sidewalk pane(s) and curb c) Remove 150mm of sub-grade below the removed concrete and replace with 150mm of suitable compacted granular material such as 75mm crush gravel, unless there is a conflict with underground utilities - to be hauled to the Town Yard d) Install the new concrete using industry best practices and to the specifications as included in the Town's Development Process and Design Guidelines (2018), or, if none exists to the City of Red Deer standards e) Protect the new concrete from pedestrians for a minimum of 24 hours f) Prohibit vehicular travel on new concrete for a minimum of 7 days g) Protect the new concrete from the weather, if required h) All concrete repair locations are marked in white paint i) All concrete repair locations are listed in Section 4 below j) The proponent is responsible for landscaping back to original condition, where required k) Dowels are to be used to connect the new concrete with the existing concrete using industry best practices and standards l) Saw "overcuts" are to be sealed from moisture m) Concrete may be hauled to the Municipal Operations Building (1 Industrial Drive) yard during normal business hours at no tippage cost to the proponent Documents can be obtained from https://sylvanlake.bidsandtenders.ca/
