Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Hartford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Milling of Bituminous Concrete on Roads and Bridges per square yard. The estimated total area of pavement milling for 2024 is approximately 145,000 square yards. Disposal of the milled material will be the responsibility of the contractor. The Town may request to keep a small portion of the milled material. When doing so, the Town shall ask the contractor in advance and provide a truck and driver. The milling of the street shall make the street ready for paving. The milling shall include but is not limited to; the sweeping of the street of all loose material, the cleaning of bituminous concrete from utility structures and removal of loose material from sidewalks, driveways, and adjacent grass/landscaped areas. The Town shall not be responsible for suppling a water source for the contractor nor will it pay for water usage. When necessary for public safety or as directed by the Town, the contractor shall be responsible for the temporary ramping of adjacent surfaces (driveways, sidewalks and intersecting streets) using the milled material. The Town shall be responsible for the removal of the temporary ramps prior to paving. There will be no additional payment for the temporary ramping. Any Clarifications and/or Addenda, as Applicable, Will Be Posted on online. It is the Respondent's Responsibility to Check online. All Bidders Must File With Their Bid, a Certified Check, Treasurer's Check or Bid Bond Made Payable to the Town of West Hartford in the Amount of 10% of the Total Base Bid Price. The Contract to be awarded is Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) or more, the successful Bidder shall furnish and pay for the required bonds in favor of the Town of West Hartford in the full amount of the estimated total base bid as determined by extending the unit prices by the estimated quantities. This bond shall provide 100% security for faithful performance and for payment of all persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection with this Contract and shall be executed by a company authorized to transact business within the State of Connecticut. No Bid May Be Withdrawn for a Period of Ninety (90) Days After the Opening of Bids Without the Approval and Written Consent of the Town of West Hartford The Right is Reserved to Reject Any and All Bids, to Waive Any Informalities in the Bidding. The Contract Shall Remain in Effect From Date of Contract Signing Date to December 31, 2024. It May Be Renewed for the Period of January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 in Yearly Increments Upon Mutual Agreement of Both Parties and at the Same Prices, Terms and Conditions of the Original Bid. The Contractor Shall Pay the Owner Liquidated Damages in the Amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) Per Calendar Day, Which Sum is Hereby Agreed Upon, and Shall Be Assessed Not as a Penalty, but as Liquidated Damages Which the Owner Shall Suffer by Reason of Such Default. The Owner and Contractor Shall Acknowledge That Failure to Effect Substantial Completion as Noted Above Will Precipitate Inconvenience and Disruption. The Owner and Contractor Shall Acknowledge That Such Damages Are Uncertain or Difficult to Prove and That the Amounts Established Herein Are Reasonable Assessment of These Damages. The Contractor Shall Pay the Owner Liquidated Damages in the Amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) Per Calendar Day, Which Sum is Hereby Agreed Upon, and Shall Be Assessed Not as a Penalty, but as Liquidated Damages Which the Owner Shall Suffer by Reason of Such Default.
