Demolition, site work and new construction of a laboratory facility in Crest Hill, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a 29,900-square-foot laboratory facility; 45,510-square-foot laboratory facility; and for the demolition of a laboratory facility.

Site: The site work includes the demolition of an existing decommissioned water tower and an adjacent one-story brick service building to provide space for two new buildings for the Illinois State Police. The site improvements include: Two vehicular entries from Division Street Parking for 224 passenger vehicles Fencing and enclosures for waste/recycling receptacles, transformers, emergency generators and on-grade chillers at the lab building. Site lighting Site security cameras Site signage All other work indicated on the construction documents. Utilities will be extended from West Division Street and the Stateville Correctional Center. Gas: Extended from existing gas services on Division Street. Electric: Extended from overhead power at the south side of Division Street. Communications: Extended from existing services. Domestic Water: Extended from Stateville Correctional Center water lines. Sanitary: Tied into existing Stateville Correctional Center sanitary system. Stormwater: Detained on site and discharges to Division Street right-of-way, maintaining existing drainage patterns. Utilities impacted by Division Street Road Widening Work: Utility pole relocation Communications vault relocation Buildings: New ISP District 5 Headquarters: 29,900 gross square foot, fully sprinkled, single story building with Gas fired/Direct Expansion RTUs. New ISP Joliet Forensic Science Laboratory: 45,510 gross square feet, fully sprinkled, single story building with roof top air handling units, boilers and chillers at grade, and humidification system. Both buildings include: Steel framed structures with concrete spread footings and slab-on-grade construction. Fiber cement rainscreen wall systems with continuous insulation thermal layer and cold formed metal framed walls. Fenestration consists of a combination of full height curtainwall glazing and aluminum ribbon windows. Roof includes a combination of metal deck and composite metal deck with a single ply PVC roof system over a minimum of R30 roof insulation and a combination of metal roof fascia and parapets with metal copings. Fire Alarm System Intrusion Detection System Each building has emergency power provided by separate diesel generators. All other work indicated on the construction documents. Division Street Improvements: Public roadway widening and drainage improvements of approximately 0.38 centerline miles. The roadway improvements include: Partial-depth asphalt milling Subgrade embankment widening and ditch grading. Construction of driveway culverts Construction of aggregate base course and shoulders. Construction of asphalt base and surface pavement courses and driveway connections. Construction of concrete combination curb and gutter. Placement of pavement markings and signage. Coordination with public utilities for relocation of facilities within the project limits.
