Renovation of a municipal facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select a firm to renovate the Election Center Facility per specifications laid out in the bid documents, creating a high-efficiency facility that will also house CTN and an Economic Development office, designed to operate independently during power outages through battery backup, solar panels, and a generator. Built using a design-bid-build method, the project emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency. A rooftop photovoltaic array will generate power, with excess energy supplied to the grid, while battery storage, an optimized building envelope, and advanced energy management systems will minimize consumption. These enhancements will ensure the Election Center remains resilient, environmentally responsible, and capable of uninterrupted operation even in the event of power loss. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond by a surety licensed and authorized to do business within the State of Michigan, in the amount of 5% of the total of the bid price. All questions shall be submitted on or before June 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. (local time), and should be addressed as follows: Scope of Work/Proposal Content questions shall be e-mailed to Carl Konopaska, Fleet & Facilities Manager, Ckonopaska@a2gov.org RFP Process and Compliance questions shall be e-mailed to Colin Spencer, Buyer - CSpencer@a2gov.org. The City reserves the right to award the total proposal, to reject any or all proposals in whole or in part, and to waive any informality or technical defects if, in the City's sole judgment, the best interests of the City will be so served. Construciton is expected from October 1, 2025 to October 1, 2026. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
