Project Overview Contractor to provide detailed design plans and build services to include the following: o Detailed design plans on best method of repairing and refinishing the full athletic area (wood floor section and Pulastic floor section) o Repair (if applicable), full sand/strip, and refinish the wooden basketball courts o Repaint all lines on refinished wooden basketball courts o Repair and/or replace sub floor beneath areas of the Pulastic sport court as needed o Repair (if applicable) and refinish the Pulastic sport court o Repaint all lines on refinished Pulastic sport court o Remove and dispose of existing surfacing (as needed) and materials o Clean up all construction related trash and debris Scope of Services Sought The Owner is seeking full design/build services for this project to design and build the proposed project in accordance with the requirements set forth in this solicitation, its attachments and referenced documents, applicable codes, laws and regulations, and meeting with the owner's full satisfaction and approval. At a minimum, professional disciplines shall include architecture and code review as well as structural, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical and electrical engineering as necessary. The owner intends to engage these services via the USNH standard design/build form of agreement (see Form of Contract) including all basic services as identified therein plus the following: o Provide coordination of construction, equipment installation, or other required work provided by the owner's own forces or separate contractors employed by the owner (e.g. electrical and telecommunications utility work; telecommunications wiring inside building). o Provide complete warranty and maintenance manuals, electronically (Adobe PDF). o Provide detailed on-site training of owner personnel and third-party service providers to adequately maintain the completed facility. o Provide annual maintenance plan and refinishing plan options Project Schedule It is the Owner's goal to begin design immediately after award and to have this construction work commence On or After May 20, 2024 and completed for a certificate of occupancy no later than July 6, 2024. Construction can commence only after full design has been fully reviewed and approved by the owner, and the overall project and its funding have been approved by the USNH Board of Trustees. Substantial Completion shall be attained as quickly as possible within the project budget provided. A complete schedule delineated by the design/build team and approved by the owner will become the project schedule. The University System of New Hampshire ("USNH" or "Owner"), representing Keene State College ("KSC") requesting bids for qualified, professional firms to provide detailed design plans for how to best repair and refinish the area and services to complete said repair/refinishing as outlined herein specific to a floor repair and refinishing project at Keene State College (KSC) in the Recreation Center / Spaulding Gym. The KSC Recreation Center / Spaulding Gym is located at 229 Main Street on the main campus of Keene State College. The recreational gym floor needing repairs and refinishing was installed in 2002 and is a Robbins Floor installed by American Sport Floors, Inc. The area includes an estimated 19,020 sf flat floor athletic area which contains two high-school sized wooden basketball courts (approx. 12,360 sf) and a large Pulastic sport court (approx. 6,660 sf) for basketball and other indoor athletic activities.
