SUNY Empire State University intends to purchase a rehabilitation services at 113 West Avenue pursuant to its discretionary authority under State Finance Law Section 163(6), which authorizes purchases without a formal competitive process in certain circumstances, including purchases from New York state small businesses, from businesses certified pursuant to Article 15-A of the New York State Executive Law and, if applicable, from businesses selling commodities or technology that are recycled or remanufactured. SUNY Empire State University owns and has offices located in 2 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY. The University is seeking to procure an experienced Contractor to submit proposals. All work on this Contract is to be completed within 240 days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: Interior renovations of the Distance Learning Center. Renovations include selective demolition of existing walls and ceiling components to facilitate new work. The addition of new partitions, doors, glazed wall and door assemblies, and finishes including signage. Modifications to existing HVAC supply and return systems, fire protection modifications, electrical power and data modifications, and lighting modifications.
