Decant Basin and Sewer Line Replacement RFP #: 2025-17 The project work site is located at 111 Excelsior Ave, Saratoga Springs, New York. The project includes all labor, materials, machinery, tools, scaffolding, equipment and other appurtenances, and all means and methods necessary to complete the work as described: Abandonment of existing decant basin, installation of new decant basin, installation of new 10" sanitary sewer. Detailed description can be found within the technical specs, section 011000 under subsection 1.4 CONTRACT SUMMARIES 1a. Contract Mo. 1 - General Construction. It is anticipated all major site work is to be completed by December 19th, 2025. PROJECT NO. 240560 This is a lump sum bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten (10) percent of the base bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the full amount of the contract price. All bids must be made on the official bid form or an exact copy by reproduction thereof and enclosed is a sealed envelope. 1. Provide temporary facilities for work under all Contracts, including temporary power, heat, lighting, and sanitary facilities. 2. Provide all necessary survey, stakeout, and layout required to construct the work of this Contract. 3. Provide all necessary maintenance and protection of traffic as specified in these Specifications and in accordance with all applicable regulations. 4. Furnish and install temporary erosion and dust control methods throughout the duration of the project as necessary to protect the environment and to limit disturbances caused by work of this Contract. 5. Locate existing onsite underground utilities prior to commencing work (verify locations given in plans and geotechnical report). Provide protection of underground facilities and utilities, including any repairs required as a result of this work. 6. Complete all site work as shown and specified including clearing & grubbing, excavation, backfill, compaction, drainage, grading, topsoil, seeding, and mulching as required to meet proposed finished grades shown on the contract drawings. 7. Complete landscaping/restoration work to areas disturbed by work of this Contract. 8. Provide protection of persons and property from hazards associated with this work. 9. Provide protection of City's water and sanitary sewer systems from contamination caused by this work. 10. Provide quality control testing required for materials incorporated into this project. 11. Provide all startup, testing, and training services on the new equipment as required in the specifications. 12. Provide for maintenance of system flows around work areas. A written plan shall be submitted for review and approval. 13. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct a new 200,000-gallon concrete decant basin including but not limited to all associated excavation, removal of existing gate house foundation from excavation, backfill, temporary sheeting, dewatering, cast-in-place concrete, railings, fences, prefab metal roof structure, concrete footings, slide gates, and concrete testing. 14. Abandon existing decant basin and some of the existing sewers downstream of the basin after new decant basin is constructed and operational (see site plans), including removal of existing chain-link fence, removal of existing 20" thick walls to five feet below grade (approximately 50 cubic yards of concrete), backfill with select imported backfill, and filling existing pipes and manholes to be abandoned with flowable fill in locations and depths shown on contract drawings. 15. Construct new grass over crusher run access driveway to proposed decant basin, including all necessary seeding, topsoil, crusher run, excavation, and compaction. 16. Furnish and install new 10" sanitary sewers in areas indicated on contract drawings and as specified in these specifications, including all necessary excavation, backfill, trench dewatering, piping, connections to existing systems, testing, manholes, paving restoration for all roads damaged due to work of this item, pre and post construction television inspections of sanitary sewers, testing, and site restoration/landscaping. 17. Allowance No. 1.1 - Contingency allowance to be used for approved additional work related to this contract not included in any other items in this contract, as ordered by Engineer.
