The City of Santa Rosa is requesting qualifications to prequalify Design-Build Entities to provide Design-Build Services for the Hearn Community Hub project. This Request for Qualifications invites Design-Builders that have experience with the design and construction of a fire station, library, and site development that includes the future expansion of a multi-cultural community center to submit a Statement of Qualifications for the Project that describes the Design-Builder's experience, qualifications, references, and capacity for satisfactorily completing the Project. The Project will be located on parcels at 976, 980 and 1004 Hearn Avenue (all of which the City has recently acquired) and together comprise approximately six acres. The Hearn Community Hub is intended as a civic campus encompassing a replacement for Fire Station 8, a new Roseland branch of the Sonoma County Library, and shared public infrastructure: parking, sidewalks, roadways, sewer, storm drains, and public plazas. The new fire station for the Santa Rosa Fire Department is prioritized in the project and potentially includes conference rooms and multiuse emergency operations spaces above the fire operations. Fire station operations, bedrooms and living areas are all to be on the first floor and efficiently adjacent to the apparatus bays. The core facilities of the station (kitchen, dining, dayroom, restrooms, fitness room and apparatus support spaces) shall be designed to accommodate six on-duty personnel for staff training.
