Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Nanton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
It is the intent of this RFP process to identify and engage the best contractor and approach for the renewal of the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre (THRC) Warm Room visual wall. The space right now has 6 windows that are not big enough and are spread too far apart. Viewing the ice surface from this space is not adequate. The wall spans 90' with a height of 13' on the ends and 18' at the peak. It is built with aluminum studs covered with dry wall on the inside and painted plywood on the outside. This is not a bearing wall. We would like to update a proper viewing space for spectators to see the ice surface in its whole. To add more windows and closer together (almost seamless). Even though we have netting in front, the odd time a puck can hit the glass. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Remove Wall (Cut out a portion) 2. To rebuild wall with close to seamless glass going across. 3. This does not need to be top to bottom glass. You should be able to sit or stand with a clear view. 4. Dry wall and plywood need to be constructed back and painted.
