City of Akron Local Goal: 18% EDGE/DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE (minimum 3% WBE) This procurement is subject to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policy of encouraging the participation of small businesses in rural areas (SBRAs). For the purpose of this Project, the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Utilization goals shall be defined as contractors and/or subcontractors with MBEs for the minimum amount of 1.3% of the Contract Price; and the Womens Business Enterprise (WBE) Utilization goals shall be defined as contractors and/or subcontractors with WBEs for the minimum amount of 1.0% of the Contract Price. City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 10% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, the Proposer to whom the Agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price for the faithful performance of the contract. The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until Final Completion of the Project. Engineer Estimate $233,820 Proposals may be held by City for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days after the date Proposals are opened for the purpose of reviewing the Proposals and investigating the qualifications of Proposers prior to awarding the Agreement.
