Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to replace a commercial grade walk-in refrigerator and freezer combination unit. . Location of services: 1102 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. . Must demo, remove, and dispose of existing refrigerator / freezer combo unit. . Repair flooring, including concrete as needed to ensure level flooring and proper installation of new unit. . Ensure existing electrical is adequate for new unit or modify as necessary to ensure proper installation of new unit. . Run drain lines in copper and wrap with heat tape in freezer and insulated. . Run copper refrigerant lines in hard drawn copper and insulate with 1" insulation. . Seams shall be sealed with butyl caulk to ensure the box will have no air or moisture leaks. . Set condensers and install evaporators with appropriately sized ACR copper out to the condensers, including insulating the suction line to prevent condensation. . Pressure test the system with nitrogen to ensure no leaks. . Systems must be vacuumed to a sub-500-micron vacuum and charged with refrigerant. . Units must be started up and calibrated . Trim of unit must be outfitted and finished out to integrate with surrounding area. . Specifications for walk-in unit are as follows: . Size should be approximately 23'5" x 28' 8" x 8' 2". . Freezer panel thickness shall be 5'5" for walls and ceilings . Freezer floor panel thickness shall be 4' 5/8" . Cooler panel thickness shall be 4" for walls and ceilings . Cooler floor panel thickness shall be 4' 5/8" . Ceiling type shall be lag down . Freezer door shall be able to manage a minimum temperature of -10 degrees Fahrenheit with a minimum of R-32 insulation throughout unit. . Freezer door shall be 34" x 78.25" with an overlap mount, left hand hinge, interior same as well. . Cooler door shall be able to manage a minimum temperate of 35 degrees Fahrenheit with a minimum of R-32 insulation throughout unit. . Cooler door shall be 34" x 78" with an overlap mount, left hand hinge, interior same as wall, exterior same as wall. . Unit shall have the following accessories: . Five (5) 4' LED lights . Two (2) vapor proof lights . Four (4) Kason 1248 hinge or TSD approved equivalent . One (1) heated vent . Two (2) digital / switch thermometer . One (1) heated frame . One (1) heated plug . Two (2) inside release push handles . One (1) interior Ramp with a 36" depth . Two (2) 1092 door closers . Two (2) strike brushed chrome .
