The Palatine Park District encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder utilizes minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Land Acquisition & Development" (OSLAD) grant program. Work must comply with grant requirements. This project includes site preparation, temporary soil erosion sediment control measures, site removals and clearing, earthwork, excavation and grading, stormwater utilities, electrical service utilities and lighting, cast- in-place concrete foundations and footings, installation of an open-air shelter, installation of playground and adventure course equipment on engineered wood fiber surfacing, asphalt paving, and concrete paving. The project also includes furnishing and planting of specified trees, shrubs, low plant material, native seed mixture, and turf seed.
