Work for Contract No. 1 - General Construction in the Village of Canajoharie will consist of furnishing and constructing a new low maintenance child friendly playground, renovation of the existing bathrooms, demolition of the existing pavilion, and construction of a new pavilion with crushed stone underlay, including but not limited to all associated excavation, backfill, playground base material, playground protective border, ADA accessible bathroom, ADA compliant ramp, sinks, faucets, water closets, bathroom accessories, floor drain expansions and upgrades, piping, winterizing components and/or accessories for all plumbing, baby changing stations, bathroom fans, louvered fiberglass doors, FRP walls and ceilings, wood framing, metal roofing, underlayment, crushed stone, concrete foundations, and restoration, all as shown and specified. Accompanying each bid must be a bid bond or certified check made payable to the order of the Village of Canajoharie in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bidder's maximum bid amount as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to a bidder, said successful bidder will comply with the Notice to Bidders and the specification for the contract in accordance therewith. Said bid bond or certified check will be retained by the Village of Canajoharie, and upon completion of the contract, in accordance with said specifications, the said bid bond or certified check will be returned to the bidder. Every bid or proposal must contain a non-collusion affidavit executed by the bidder or his authorized representative. Separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract sum, will be required of the successful bidder. The Village of Canajoharie reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids submitted or to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder who in the Village's judgment makes the most advantageous proposal to the Village of Canajoharie.
