Renovation of an educational facility in Erie, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
SCOPE A. All work shall be conducted in accordance with the Scheduling Requirements of the Work as hereafter specified. The Contractors shall be responsible for the means, methods and sequences to implement the specified schedule. 1. The Contractor shall be responsible for submitting a Project Schedule, as specified in Section 007216 "General Conditions" Article 3. 2. Note: Construction schedules representing anything less than a five day work week shall not be permitted, see also Section 007216 "General Conditions" Article 3, Paragraph 3.10. B. The Owner intends to occupy the existing building and site during the entire construction time frame. Work shall be conducted in such a manner that safe and secure measures are taken to provide use of the existing building and site for students, faculty, staff, and the general public during the construction. 1. The building access areas, both inside and outside the building, shall be accessible at all times. C. The site is limited in size for both the building users and the Contractor. Visitors, staff members and busses shall have use of the existing parking areas and drives. Construction traffic and deliveries shall be restricted on-site between certain hours so as not to interfere with the school arrival/dismissal schedules during the School year. Site access for construction equipment/activities shall be coordinated with the School District. Construction equipment, trailer, vehicles and material storage, if required, shall be located as directed by the Architect and Owner at the initial Job Conference. Contractor shall be restricted to this area. Only one (1) trailer will be permitted for the Contractor, if needed, and shall be located in the area designated above. All other parking and material storage, which cannot take place within the area(s) designated above, shall take place off site. Failure of the Contractor to police his workmen's parking and material storage requirements shall result in withheld payments and/or fines. 1. Contractor shall repair/restore any area used for staging, storage, parking, etc., as well as any areas damaged by construction activities, to original or better condition at completion of work. 2. Contractor shall maintain the building and site free from soil, dust, dirt, debris, etc., from construction activities as specified in Section 017413.23 during the construction and at the completion of all work. Contractor shall clean and remove all construction material and debris from all interior work areas, daily. On-Site Construction: Note: Student's last day for the 2023 - 2024 School Year: June 4, 2024. Approximate Student's first day for the 2024 - 2025 School Year: August 26, 2024. Completion dates specified below reflect completion of all work, punchlist completion, final cleaning, and School District moving into all spaces. Start Complete (including all Punchlist Corrective Work June 5, 2024 November 22, 2024* *All work during the 2024 - 2025 School Year shall be completed during times when the space is not occupied by the School, i.e., 2 nd shift after school dismissal, weekends, holidays, etc. All hours as coordinated with the School District. Contractor will have access to one room each evening and all work for that room shall be completed during that work period. At the end of each work day, Contractor shall clean and remove all construction material and debris from the room in order for the Owner to use the room for classes the following morning. The Owner requires a specific amount of classroom spaces to conduct its normal operation and will only make these spaces available during non-school hours. Final Project Completion Dates: FINAL PROJECT COMPLETION DATE - NOVEMBER 22, 2024 FINAL PROJECT CLOSEOUT COMPLETION DATE - DECEMBER 22, 2024
