Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a residential development; for the renovation of a residential development; and residential development.
New Colony Dr - Old Providence Rd Backyard Sewer Replacement The City of Virginia Beach, Virginia will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all equipment, labor and material, and the performing of all work for the above described project. The Bidder shall include in its bid or proposal its identification number issued by the Virginia State Corporation Commission or a statement describing why it is not required to be so authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth. The work includes furnishing all equipment, labor, and materials for the demolition and replacement of 1,248 linear feet of existing 8-inch vitrified clay gravity sewer located in the backyard of single family and multi-family residential homes and within an existing utility easement. The work will also include, but is not limited to, erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control, pre-construction and post-construction CCTV of all storm water piping within the limits of disturbance, demolition of designated fencing and landscaping features within the designated easements, temporary and/or permanent relocation of existing privately owned storage sheds, establishment of temporary construction fencing along the limits of disturbance to provide for a physical and visual barrier between private property and the construction area, demolition of the existing 8-inch gravity sewer piping and manholes, bypass pumping to maintain sewer service, construction of 1,248 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron gravity sewer and manholes, trench bedding and backfill, post-construction CCTV on newly installed gravity sewer, site grading to establish positive drainage, replacement of designated concrete sidewalk and curb, construction of 2,620 linear feet of new privacy fencing and gates of wood construction, site restoration to preconstruction conditions, and all incidental work thereto as required in the Contract Documents. As a matter of responsiveness, bidders that intend to subcontract work on the resulting project must commit at least 50% of the value of the subcontracted work to businesses certified as Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned businesses (SWaM) by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity; if the bidder is unable to meet the 50% subcontracting requirement, then the bidder must provide documentation showing, with specificity, good faith efforts undertaken to meet the 50% SWaM-certified subcontractor participation requirement.
