Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a theater / auditorium in New London, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the addition of a theater / auditorium; for the demolition of a theater / auditorium; for the renovation of a theater / auditorium; and for site work for a theater / auditorium.

A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the installation of a new loading dock and associated building and site improvements at the existing building. B. The Project generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following major elements: 1. Removal of selected building materials and components. 2. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. 3. Provision of a new concrete loading dock and adjoining truck ramp/access, includingmetal loading dock canopy and asphalt shingle roof assembly (Add Alternate No. 1 - standing seam metal roof), dock leveler, dock bumpers, and all related components. 4. Provision of a new electrically powered overhead door. 5. Provision of a new exterior concrete stair with steel handrails, and other site mounted removable handrails. 6. Provision of new roof mounted gutters, downspouts, downspout boots, and connection to existing sub-grade storm water drainage system. 7. You must include one hard copy marked "ORIGINAL" and one digital USB copy. o The contractor who is selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60, 4a-60a, 4a-60g, and 46a-68b through 46a-68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the total state funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. o This is a prevailing wage job. o The selected contract must comply will C.G.S. Sec 4b-91. Contractors must be pre-qualified by the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and MUST PROVIDE EVIDENCE IN BID RESPONSE! AIA form A305 may also be accepted, but contractor will have to prequalify. o An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Minority/Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Bid bonds, performance bonds, and labor and material bonds will be required as specified below. Guaranty or surety may be in the form of certified check. Bonds must meet the following requirements: Corporation - must be signed by an official of the corporation above their official title and the corporate seal must be affixed over the signature; Firm or Partnership - must be signed by all of the partners and indicate they are "doing business as"; Individual - must be signed by the owner and indicated as "Owner". The surety company executing the bond or countersigning must be licensed in Connecticut and an official of the surety company must sign the bond with the corporate seal affixed over the signature. Signatures of two (2) witnesses for both the principal and the surety must appear on the bond. Power of attorney for the official signing the bond for the surety company must be submitted with the bond. Bid Bond - Ten percent (10%) due at time of bid for all contract services and public works/construction projects that exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) Performance Bond - One hundred percent (100%) of contract price for projects that exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). Labor and Material Payment Bonds - One hundred percent (100%) of contract price for projects that exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00).
