Site work for a civil project in Denver, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The goal of the Sherman Street Irrigation & Landscape Replacement project is to eliminate high-water turf grass at select State-owned properties along Sherman Street within the Capitol Complex. Water use for landscaping at these properties has been identified as excessive and a waste of valuable resources. The irrigation system is past its useful life and over sprays onto sidewalks and into the street. The transition from non-essential turf grass to a more sustainable, drought-tolerant landscape, including native or drought tolerant turf grasses, and high-efficiency irrigation infrastructure is intended to generate long-term advantages including water conservation, storm water runoff reduction, and reduced maintenance. This project entails installing xeriscaping landscaping, a new irrigation system, replacing turf grass with drought resistant plantings, decomposed granite surfacing, and landscape stone features, including crevice gardens. The scope of services includes temporary tree protection, site clearing, soil preparation, installation of landscape site elements such as crushed aggregate surfacing, landscape stone (including bench slab stones, decorative slab stones, boulders, crevice garden ledge stone, and stone pavers), mineral mulch, xeriscape shrub, ornamental grass, and perennial plantings, seeded turf grass, and a sub-surface drip irrigation system with soil moisture sensors in the Phase 1 areas as referenced on the plans. You are authorized to hold said Bid Guarantee for a period of not more than thirty (30) days after the opening of the Bids for the work above indicated, unless the undersigned bidder is awarded the Contract, within said period, in which event the Office of the State Architect, may retain said Bid Guarantee, until the undersigned bidder has executed the required Agreement and furnished the required Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance Policy.
