The Project consists of the following: Approximately 485 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water mains installed by open cut, Approximately 164 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water mains installed by highway bore in 16 diameter steel casing, Approximately 800 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE water mains installed by horizontal directional drilling, Connect to existing water mains, Cut and plug of existing 8 water main, Approximately 485 linear feet of utility line route preparation including clearing and grubbing, The work specified in this section consists of furnishing and installing underground utilities using the horizontal directional drilling method of installation, also commonly referred to as directional boring or guided horizontal boring. This work shall include all services, equipment, materials, and labor for the complete and proper installation, testing, restoration of underground utilities and environmental protection and restoration. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT A. The work of this project is located along Arkansas State Highway 17 near Boat Gunwale Slash in Monroe County, Arkansas as shown on the Construction Drawings. B. The project work is described as follows: 1. The project work shall be at the Boat Gunwale Slash location along State Highway 17. The work shall include installing a new water main by open cut, bore under State Highway 17 for the water main crossings, and horizontal directional drilling under Boat Gunwale Slash. 2. The project work shall include abandoning the existing water main and related appurtenances located inside the proposed ARDOT right-of-way.
