Site work for a water / sewer project in Robbins, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) and the Village of Robbins have developed a flood control project in the Village of Robbins, Cook County, Illinois. The project is located between Kedzie Avenue and Sacramento Avenue (west to east) and 139th Street to the Cal-Sag Channel (south to north) in Section 1 and 36, Township 36 and 37 North, Range 13 East. The project is a flood control project which consists of stream bank stabilization, riparian improvements and in-stream habitat improvements on Midlothian Creek, wetland park construction, and diversion channel construction. Approximately 36 acres of land will be disturbed. The project is needed because the Village of Robbins experiences recurrent flooding from storm events. Significant flooding has occurred as a result of storms in 1996 and 2008. The primary goal for this project is to develop an affordable, effective flood control improvement that significantly reduces the risk for flood damage at the project location. 140 acres and 100 structures will be removed from the floodplain. In addition, the design is developed in partnership with the Village of Robbins (Village) and other public and private agencies with a vested interest in the future use of the site as a community recreational amenity and anchor for future development and growth in the area. The project will be constructed by MWRD and then ownership will be turned over to the Village. Important Note for All Bidders: By submitting a bid to F.H. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
