SMBSD is seeking Bids from qualified contractors to perform tree maintenance at eleven school sites. Start/Delivery Date Anticipated Start: June 10, 2024 Question Deadline 02/26/2024 at 2:00 PM PT Online Q&A Yes Project Duration 45 Calendar Days This allows the School District to informally Bid small construction and maintenance projects with estimated costs of $60,000 to $200,000. Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base Bid and made payable to the Owner. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact business of insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), and satisfactory to the Owner. Should said work not be completed within the time limit as may be extended as herein provided, damages will be sustained by the Owner. It is understood and agreed that it is and will be impracticable or extremely difficult to determine the actual amount of damages which the Owner will sustain in the event of and by reason of such delay, and it is therefore agreed that the Contractor will pay the Owner the sum of $250.00 Dollars per calendar day and per site for each and every day's delay beyond the time specified as and for liquidated damages; in case the Contractor fails to make such payment, the Owner may deduct the amount thereof from any money due or that may become due the Contractor under the contract. Should such money not be sufficient to cover the agreed liquidated damages, the Owner shall have the right to recover the balance from the Contractor or his sureties. The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities or informalities in any submission or in the solicitation process. Proposals shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
