Section 1: Company Background North Dakota State University (NDSU) is replacing an existing coal fired boiler (Boiler #4) in their existing central heating plant with a new package boiler (Boiler #11) that will operate on natural gas and fuel oil. This Request for Proposal includes the following equipment as a part of this project. Section 3: Project Description KFI Engineers, on behalf of NDSU, is seeking lump sum bids for one (1) 80,000 lb/hr dual-fueled boiler to be incorporated into the project described below. Proposed Schedule: Technology and Equipment Vendor Selection: May 2024 (Bid Prices must be good through May 2024) Environmental Permitting: February 2024 - February 2025 Release for Fabrication: May 2024 Construction Start: Q1 2025 Delivery Window: Q2 2025 Construction Complete: Q4 2025 Start up: Q4 2025 Plant Location: The proposed facility is located at NDSU in Fargo, ND. The local elevation is approximately 902 feet above sea level. Energy and Utilities: Electrical Load: 480VAC 3-PH, 208VAC 1-PH and 125VDC Supplies Natural Gas: Nominally 30 PSIG Steam Supply: 120 psig, saturated Compressed Air: 70 PSIG instrument-quality Infrastructure: The plant site is in urban Fargo and will require a highly coordinated delivery. Permanent or Temporary delivery location will be established 2 months prior to equipment shipment. Schedule: Engineering: A timeline for the following engineering deliverables at minimum: o Equipment engineering schedule - 2 week ARO o Equipment Datasheets with dimensions and foundation loads - 4 weeks ARO o General Arrangement and foundation drawing submittals - 4 weeks ARO o Process & Instrumentation diagrams - 4 weeks ARO o Certified equipment drawings - 8 weeks ARO o Controls narrative - 8 weeks ARO o Bi-Weekly (every two weeks) project updates o The successful Vendor will be required to submit complete shop drawings during this phase. This includes drawings from any sub-vendors that the Vendor plans to purchase auxiliary components from.
