Paving Contract: Accepting bids for the following: Furnish and place approx. 758 tons of 9.5mm Asphalt, and approx. 195 SY of pavement repair. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contracts is required of all bidders. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of workers compensation insurance will be required from the lowest responsible bidder. All work and material must meet current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Form 408 and its Supplements. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. 9.5MM ASPHALT LEVELING COURSE: Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, 9.5mm, 64S-22, Asphalt Wearing Course < .3 ESAL-s, SRL- Any to be furnished and placed at location specified above. Furnish and place compacted asphalt wearing course materials across entire cross-section of roadway at a uniform depth as required (depths and respective locations shown above), using full width paving equipment when possible to avoid joints in the finished pavement. Completed pavement should provide sufficient cross-slope (approximately 2.0%) to maintain positive drainage throughout construction and positive drainage into all existing inlets. Refer to PennDOT Pub 408, section 413. PAVEMENT REPAIR: This item will include excavation and removal of existing asphalt/ subgrade material, and will include furnishing and placement of 4" of 25mm Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Base Course, PG 64S-22, < 0.3 million ESALs, followed by 1" of 9.5mm Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Asphalt Wearing Course, PG 64S-22, < 0.3 ESAL's. Contractor will be responsible to verify elevations to ensure adequate drainage prior to asphalt placement. Sub grade to be compacted prior to asphalt placement. All asphalt materials to be adequately compacted, and all joints to be sealed upon completion of asphalt placement.
