The work described in these Bid Documents is for bulk demolition, selective demolition, MEPcut, cap, and make safe, temporary utilities, hazardous materials abatement, and site enabling for theentireNew John R. Pierce School Project. The scope described is scheduled to start in early July 2024. Theexisting John R. Pierce School is comprised of 2 buildings, built around 1970 and a historic buildingconsisting built around 1904. The 1970s building will be demolished in its entirety down to thebottom of the lowest existing footing. There is some selective demolition included in the existingparking garage of the 1970a building. The historic building will include selective demolitionas described in these documents. All existing utilities with be cut, capped, and made safe for bothbuildings prior to start of demolition. All hazardous materials as described in the attached report shall be demolished. Construction MBE 4.2%, WBE 8.8% The project is located at 50 School Street in Brookline, MA 02445 and consists of the construction of an approximately 157,613 square feet K-8 school, 73,816 square feet is an underground parking garage and development of the 2.5-acre site. The construction consists initially of abatement/demolition of the existing school, followed immediately by new construction and associated site improvements. The abatement/demolition of the old school must be complete by February 19, 2025 and new construction and site improvements must be substantially complete by October 29, 2027. The Project Team includes the Design Firms of Miller Dyer Spears (MDS) of Boston, MA with associate architect Sasaki of Watertown, MA and the Owner's Project Management firm of LeftField, LLC of Boston, MA and the Construction Management Team of Consigli Construction of Milford, MA John R.
