This project will build a connector road between Newton Road and the UIHC Fountain Entrance. Targeted Small Business (TSB): The certified Iowa TSB participation goal for this project is 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid. This establishes the amount that should be reported on the Final Payment Reporting Form as part of the TSB Program SUMMARY OF WORK a. Project Location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Iowa in the area between Newton Road, General Hospital, HPR 1 and CDD, Iowa City, Iowa. b. The Constructor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment necessary for, and incidental to, construction of this project as indicated on Drawings dated February 19, 2024. c. Work shall include everything requisite and necessary to finish work properly, notwithstanding that not every item of labor or materials or accessories required to make project complete may be specifically mentioned. d. General Description of Work: 1) Project consists of: a) Part A: Construction of new roadway segment and roundabout connecting Newton Road to UIHC Fountain Entrance, including relocation of the existing VA Transit Loop and the installation of a new ITS service to CDD and a new 3-cell ITS ductbank. This includes paving and general demolition, grading, new paving and sidewalks, retaining walls, subdrain, and landscaping and site restoration. b) Part B: Utility relocations and replacements including storm sewer, domestic water, chilled water, and sanitary sewer. Restoration of the disturbed area outside of the roadway site limits for these utilities is required. Refer to all "-U" sheets. c) Part C: Construct underground detention systems. Refer to sheet C404-U. d) Bidders must submit a bid for both Part A, Part B and Part C. The Owner will award the project to the lowest total bid combination of Part A, Part B and Part C.
