Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Bristol, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

This work shall consist of furnishing, placing and shaping loam between curb and sidewalk, back of sidewalk and existing grass areas, and/or between curb and existing grass areas designated on the plans or where directed by the Engineer. The loam shall be placed to a compacted depth of six (6") inches, unless otherwise specified. Preparation of seedbed, application of fertilizer and seed shall be as herein specified or as directed by the Engineer. The City of Bristol, Connecticut is seeking bids for curbing and sidewalk repairs and other related work at various locations throughout the City, for the period through December 31, 2024. Bond Notes: Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "2024-081 Sidewalk Repair Program", accompanied by a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut, in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount. The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. Labor and Materials Bond in the amount of 100% of the Total Proposal Price guaranteeing to the City payments for all labor, materials, and equipment utilized in the completion of work under the Contract in the amount of contract award. Performance Bond, guaranteed by Surety licensed to do business in Connecticut, in the amount of 100% of the Total Proposal Price guaranteeing to the City the completion of the Contract. DRS Guarantee Bond (for out-of-state contractors only); A nonresident contractor working in Connecticut and a surety company licensed to do business in Connecticut shall use Form AU-766 enclosed to post a guarantee bond with the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) for a specific project in the state. Firms submitting bids must be pre-qualified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") to perform concrete and/or site work and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. Additionally, any contractor or subcontractor performing any work on this contract must be pre-qualified with DAS to perform said services and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin. Owner Rights: The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. The City of Bristol may reject bids which are incomplete, conditional, obscure, contain additions not called for, erasures not properly initialed, or which contain alterations or irregularities of any kind. The City may rightfully waive informalities. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to reject any or all bids; or the bids for any one or more commodities; or contractual services included in any or all bids; and/or to waive any informality in bids; and unless otherwise specified, to buy any part or the whole from one or more bidders when it is to the City's best interest to do so. The City also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid whether the lowest or not, should the City deem it for their best interest to do so.
