The City of Bristol is accepting bids for replacement of fire alarm panel and associated equipment at Bristol Eastern High School, 632 King Street, Bristol Connecticut. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the City of Bristol website via the document link noted below. The Intent of these specifications is to obtain complete services required to remove existing fire alarm panel and devices and subsequently install new panel and devices and other associated work, complete in place, including all labor, equipment, installation and cleanup activities, supervision, tools, materials, disposal, etc. for work of thistype; in conformance with all applicable codes, as required by first-class construction practice for work of this type; and/or as ordered by the Engineer. Bidders are advised that the project includes replacement of the fire alarm panel, FA devices, and all wiring for said devices. This project is subject to requirements set forth in the American Rescue Plan Act ("ARPA"). The awarded contractor will be responsible to follow and provide all requirements set by the United States Treasury's State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds ("SLFRF"). The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Bids must be firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days following the bid opening. Bidders are advised that the deadline for RFI's/questions is March 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Any and all addenda released by the City is expected to be provided to bidders no later than March 21, 2024. Bid Bond Requirements A Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5 %) of the total amount bid, issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut, is required. Bid bond will be returned to all except the successful bidder upon award, and to the successful bidder upon issuance of a Purchase Order. NO BID WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY THE REQUIRED BID BOND. Work Schedule The Contractor shall call the Building Department at (860) 584-6215 and secure all work permits necessary prior to the start of any work associated with this Contract. All work is expected to be substantially completed no later than September 30, 2024. The City acknowledges the potential existence of material constraints, and adjustments to schedule may be made with the awarded contractor as may be dictated by equipment procurement schedules. Withdrawal of Bid Submitted Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the designated closing time for receiving bids. Bids may be withdrawn 90 days after the bid opening, if no award has been made. If the City does not award a contract within ninety (90) days after the opening of bids, all bid proposals will be null and void except on mutual agreement of the City and the lowest qualified bidder, this time may be extended.
