The Contractor shall provide typical large machine mowing and trimming service in and around the Perdido Landfill site. Service is required monthly April through October. Areas consist of roadside areas, pond berms, terraces, swales and gently sloped terrain to steep slopes that may be greater than 3-horizontal to 1-vertical. Scope of Work or Project Details Vendor is required to provide large machine mowing and trimming to areas in and around the Perdido Landfill Site. Please see the attached, detailed Scope Of Work for further information. Description: The work specified shall be performed for the Waste Services Department at the Perdido Landfill site. The contractor shall provide typical large machine mowing as well as trimming service to vegetation during the typical growing season. Vegetation consists of planted and/or natural grasses, weeds and other vegetation within the area to be mowed. The use of specialized equipment and hand labor will be required to perform the work in certain areas. Types of Mowing/Trimming: Large machine mowing includes areas consisting of large, gently sloped terrain to steep slopes greater or steeper than 3-horizontal to 1-vertical, roadside areas, pond berms, and front and back slopes of terrace swales. All hand labor required to perform specified work around appurtenances shall be incidental to the type of mowing being performed. Appurtenances shall include, but not be limited to, landfill gas wells, groundwater monitoring wells, and limits of waste markers. All groundwater monitoring wells should be trimmed at a minimum of 4-feet in diameter around each well or cluster of wells. In addition, vehicle access to all groundwater-monitoring wells shall be mowed and/or trimmed at each service cycle. Frequency of Mowing and Trimming: The area and limits of mowing and trimming are listed in the Maintenance Schedule below and are distinguishable in the field. The Contractor shall mow and trim up to the limits maintained by Waste Services and around existing appurtenances located within the areas to be mowed. All questions or inquiries must be received no later than the last day for questions stated in the solicitation & Legal Notice. Any addenda or other modification to the bid documents will be issued by the County five (5) days prior to the date and time of bid closing, as written addenda, and will be posted to the Escambia County website at Escambia County Solicitations. Contract Term/Renewal/Termination A. The contract resulting from this solicitation shall commence effective upon execution by both parties and extend for a period of Thirty-Six (36) Months. The contract may be renewed for additional twelve (12) month periods, up to a maximum thirty-six (36) months upon mutual agreement of both parties. If any such renewal results in changes in the terms or conditions, such changes shall be reduced to writing as an amendment to the contract and such addendum shall be executed by both parties and approved by the Board of County Commissioners. B. Renewal of the contract shall be subject to appropriation of funds by the Board of County Commissioners. C. The initiating County department(s) shall issue release (purchase) orders against the term contract on an "as needed" basis. D. The contract may be canceled by the awarded firm, for good cause, upon ninety (90) days prior written notice. E. The County retains the right to terminate the contract, with or without good cause, upon (30) days prior written notice. F. In the event of termination by either party as provided herein, the awarded firm shall be paid for services performed through the date of termination. Option to Extend the Term of the Contract After exercising all options to renew, if it is determined that interim performance is necessary to allow for the solicitation and award of new contract, the County may extend this Agreement for up to an additional six (6) months. The County shall provide written notice to the Contractor no later than thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the last one (1) year renewal period. The exercise of the option shall be for the period specified and for the prices listed on the bid form. All other terms and conditions of thee contract shall apply to the option periods.
