This work shall include, but is not limited to, the reconstruction of Marble Street from the state line to the intersection of Marble Street and Wabash Avenue. There will be no work done within the right-of-way for the Norfolk Southern Railway. Work includes removal of the existing pavement, earthwork, new asphalt pavement, and all necessary appurtenant work. COMPLETION DATE: This work shall be completed by June 3,2024. All Bidders must be properly licensed in the City of Hammond at the time bids are received. Contractors may contact the Hammond Building Inspections Department to inquire on General Contractor and Sub- contractors licensing and requirements, at 219-853-6316 or the Hammond. Please note that the Hammond Contracting Board only meets once per month, at the first Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Inspection Department Conference Room. The deadline for submitting an application and required information for a Hammond License is one week prior to the meeting. For this bid, the next deadline to submit an application is February 26, 2024 and then corresponding meeting date is March 4,2024. All Bidders must comply with Hammond Ordinance No. 9519 related to Responsible Bidding Practices that requires all Bidders to become prequalified by the City of Hammond Building Commissioner prior to submitting a Bid for Public Works for the City of Hammond. A copy of the ordinance is contained in the Contract Documents, Section 00 75 55. The Hammond Redevelopment Commission reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Hammond Redevelopment Commission further reserves the right to waive informalities and toward the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Hammond Redevelopment Commission or to reject all bids. A Pre-Bid Conference will be not be held for this project. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. INDIANA REQUIREMENT: Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013) which includes non collusion affidavit will be required. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made.
