Site work for a water / sewer project in Windham, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work involves the disconnection and abandonment of the existing 6" sanitary sewer main and the 3" domestic water service serving Burr Hall. Work includes the installation of a new 6" sanitary sewer main and new 4" domestic water service serving Burr Hall on the campus of Eastern Connecticut State University. Summary of Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Disconnection and Abandonment of the existing 3" galvanized domestic water service. 2. Installation of new 4" cement-lined ductile iron water service and water service riser within the building. 3. Connection to 6" water main along Windham Street and coordination of the work with water utility (Windham Water Works). 4. Disconnection and Abandonment of the existing Sanitary Sewer service. 5. Installation of new 6" Sanitary Sewer service from utility to building and within building connecting to existing waste. 6. All trenching, excavation & backfilling required both exterior and interior to the building. 7. Site Restoration of disturbed areas. 8. Coordination with local water utility & water pollution control authority. 9. Trenching/Backfilling along with site work & protections for the installation of a new underground services to Burr Hall. 10. Modifications to the existing underground 6" water utility main run along Windam Street. 11. Coordination with local water utility (Windham Water Works). ECSU reserves the right to award in part, to reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, and to waive technical defects, irregularities and omissions if, in its judgment, the best interest of ECSU will be served. Should ECSU determine that only one Respondent is fully qualified, or that one Respondent is more highly qualified than the others under consideration, a contract may be negotiated and awarded to that bidder. The awarded document shall be a contract incorporating by reference all requirements, terms and conditions of the solicitation and the awarded contractor's proposal as negotiated. Construction Activity Start May 6, 2024 Install/Construction Completion August 14, 2024 A BID BOND having as surety thereto a Surety Company or Companies authorized to transact business in the State of Connecticut and made out in the penal sum of 10% of the bid, or in the amount of: Performance Bond. On or before the contract award date the successful bidder, for any bid equal to or exceeding $50,000, shall substitute for the certified check or bid bond accompanying his bid, an executed Performance Bond, in an amount not less than 100 percent of the contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract, and having as surety thereto such Surety Company or Companies satisfactory to the Agency and as are authorized to transact business in this State. Labor and Material Bond.
