The scope of work includes engineering services that the service provider shall perform to complete a Wastewater Feasibility Study for Kehewin Cree Nation following the requirements set out in the RFP. There are 263 homes on private septic systems and 32 homes on holding tanks (Private Septic Systems Assessments Report by Associated Engineering, dated December 2022). There are 14 homes along with the non-residential buildings within the core area connected to the sewer. Please note an additional 30 homes are scheduled for construction this year. (ISC's Housing Report) There is approximately 1,600 m of gravity sewer mains and 300 m of force mains. The existing wastewater system consists of approximately 1,600 m of gravity sewer mains that feed into a new Lift Station (substantially completed in 2023). The Lift Station is connected to the lagoon via a 300 m force main. The lagoon is comprised of 4 synthetically lined cells. The Water Treatment Plant is serviced by a 70 m sewer gravity line into a holding tank. The following sections outline in general the scope of work and are not intended to provide every detail of the work to be performed by the Service Provider to achieve the objectives during this contract. The scope of work items listed in this document shall not be considered to be absolute descriptions of the scope of work. The actual work will be developed further throughout the study and project meetings with the concurrence of the Project Team. The main objective is to provide the First Nation with an approved final wastewater feasibility study within the approved scope, schedule, and cost parameters that meets all regulatory requirements. The study will provide a defensible plan to solve the long-standing wastewater issues for the residents of the First Nation. The study will determine the best solution for the First Nation's wastewater system in an effective and reliable manner to meet the community's current and 20-year needs, while complying with current Federal and Provincial Guidelines and Regulations. Proponents understand and agree that the Owner may, if deemed necessary, verify any information provided in any Proposal. It must be clearly understood that if there is any evidence of misleading or false information having been given, the Owner may, in its sole discretion, reject the Proposal.
