**As of April 18, 2024, the project was awarded to Christiansen Construction Co LLC. in the amount of $1,198,976.** The Project is located at 223 Union St, Westfield, IA and includes the following Work: 1. Existing Water Treatment Plant Demolition a. Demolition and removal of existing pressure filter systems, process piping, chemical feed, electrical and controls in existing treatment plant. b. All other work shown on Drawings or called for in the Specifications. 2. New Water Treatment Plant a. Construction of a new 288 SF engineered SIP structure. b. Installation of pressure filter system, ancillary process piping, valves and other appurtenances. c. Installation of chemical storage and feed equipment. d. Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, and Control equipment installation. e. Site improvements including grading, utility piping, paving, seeding, and other required site work. f. All other work shown on Drawings or called for in the specifications. 3. Existing Standpipe Improvements a. Provide pressurized temporary potable water storage. b. Standpipe rehabilitation work including hatch replacements, vent installation, overflow pipe extension, and other required work. c. Coating improvements including exterior tank cleaning and overcoat, and interior blasting and recoating. d. All other work shown on Drawings or called for in Specifications. 4. Water Meter Replacement a. Procurement and delivery to Owner of approximately 75 water meters. b. All other work shown on Drawings or called for in Specifications. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Owner on forms provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price Work on the improvement shall commence within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract, or on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract and bonds by the City Council. The work shall be substantially completed on or October 15th, 2025, and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before December 15th, 2025. Failure to meet either the Substantial Completion date or Final Completion date will result in liquidated damages of $500.00 per calendar day. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and in the amount of 10% of the total amount of the bid, as specified in the Bidding Documents, as security that if awarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance.
