Renovation of a fire / police facility in Weston, Florida. Working plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

As of April 11, 2024, the project is canceled. No definite date for the rebid. Remove and dispose of existing equipment, refrigerant, and any associated material, per current EPA guidelines. Furnish and set the new Trane air handler into place and fasten as required to the existing concrete equipment pad. Furnish and install new thermal expansion valve(s) and filter driers to serve the newly reconnected air hander. Reconnect the existing refrigerant piping circuits to the piping connections provided with new Trane system, including new copper piping and/or fittings as required. Remove the existing VFD and install the new Air Handler MICP Control Panel to serve the new Air Handler. The work shall be performed at the Police Services Center in Weston, Florida. The Contractor is strongly advised to review and familiarize with the site and the required work prior to submitting this informal bid. Additional work identified during site visits may be added to the items listed below in an addendum. All work shall be scheduled performed weekends only. 1. Recover and pump down of existing equipment and refrigerant, with existing refrigerant stored onsite. 2. Mechanically and electrically disconnect the air handler designated for replacement and prepare for removal. 3. Remove and dispose of existing equipment, refrigerant, and any associated material, per current EPA guidelines. 4. Furnish and set the new Trane air handler into place and fasten as required to the existing concrete equipment pad. 5. Furnish and install new thermal expansion valve(s) and filter driers to serve the newly reconnected air hander. 6. Reconnect the existing refrigerant piping circuits to the piping connections provided with new Trane system, including new copper piping and/or fittings as required. 7. Pressurize and perform hold test on newly installed AHU and refrigerant piping to ensure system integrity. 8. Evacuate newly connected refrigerant circuit and charge to factory specifications with stored refrigerant. 9. Furnish and install new supply air ductwork and fittings as needed to reconnect the existing ductwork to the connections provided with the new Air Handlers. 10. Reconnect existing condensate drain piping and system to the connections provided with new Trane Air Handlers. 11. Furnish and install new 35A current limiting fuses to meet the new AHU electrical requirements. 12. The existing service disconnect switch is in good condition and will be reused to serve the new Air Handler. 13. Remove the existing VFD and install the new Air Handler MICP Control Panel to serve the new Air Handler. 14. Furnish and install new conduit and communication wiring to provide 0-10V signal to the new AHU fan motor. 15. Disconnect the existing Trane controls and reconnect to serve the new Air Handler. 16. Furnish and install new conduit and wire as needed to extend power wiring circuit from the new MICP panel to the connections at the new AHU fan motor. 17. Make all final electrical terminations as required, for proper connection to new Trane Air Handler. 18. Reinstall AHU smoke detectors and verify each Ahu shutdowns with Smoke detectors. 19. Furnish rigging and hoisting facilities including operator as needed to remove all existing equipment and set new equipment into place. Contractor shall be responsible and liable for injury to persons and property caused by the operation of the equipment. 20. Contractor shall prepare and submit permit applications. Contractor shall submit permit invoices to the City for reimbursement. Bid amount shall exclude Permit fees. 21. Contingency provided by City of Weston can only be used after written authorization from the City of Weston. The City reserves the right to: 1. Award all or a portion of the services as determined to be in the best interest of the City. 2. Award to one or more than one Contractor as determined to be in the best interest of the City. 3. Reject any or all bids if found not to be in the best interest of the City.
