Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Spencer, Indiana. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The proposed scope of work consists of providing engineering services to prepare a detailed set of specifications and drawings for the single span bridge substructure and superstructure, +/- 58 ft. in total length, 24 ft. in clear width which are to be sealed by a professional engineer, licensed to practice in the State of Indiana. A set of these as build documents are to be submitted at the completion of the work to the county for their records. The scope of work includes the demolition by the contractor with transport and disposal of all demolition materials by the County from the site. The scope of work also includes designing and building two abutments. Also, the contractor shall construct the approaches to the new bridge with the exception of any asphalt paving and/or approach guardrails. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in bidding. The scope also includes the installation of the designed bridge beams and construction of the concrete bridge deck. Contractors must bid using new steel beams. If used steel beams that meet specs are available, the contractor may bid using them as an option. Work by County: asphalt paving, furnishing and installation any required bridge approach railing and supplying and delivering all needed aggregate and fill material. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the proposal form furnished to bidders, A certified check, bank draft, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and a surety company in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The Contractor awarded the work will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price; a payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Proof of insurance as specified in the General Provisions will also be required.
