Site work for a museum in New Bern, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a museum.
NOTE: All Letters of Interest received in response to the previous advertisement for design services will still be considered and remain valid for this Re-Advertisement. No additional response to this Re-Advertisement is required for any design firm that submitted a Letter of Interest in response to the previous advertisement for design services. The Tryon Palace Historic Site has an existing fence that is stacked stone with chain link fence on top. This chain link fence has become overgrown and is unsightly for a Historic Site. The chain link fence is also in need of repair as it is the security for the Palace grounds. This project will construct a brick wall with capstones on top to match the varying height of the existing stacked stone in front of the existing fence and install wrought iron fencing to the height of the existing chain link fence on top of the brick wall. The Chain link fence will be removed and the space between the new brick wall and stacked stone will be filled in. This will provide a more esthetic look and view out to the areas surrounding the Palace grounds. The stacked stone is not a historic structure as it uses reclaimed sections of sidewalk and other concrete. During the construction of the History Center, a section of the new fence was installed adjacent to the wrought iron back entrance to the Palace grounds. In order to offer architectural, engineering, or landscape architectural services in response to this solicitation, the proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina.
