FENTON HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 100 STEM BUILDING ADDITION FENTON HIGH SCHOOL, BENSENVILLE, IL Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Board of Education of Fenton High School District 100, is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the STEM Building Addition Project at Fenton High School. The project consists of a 40,000 sf 2-story expansion on the westside of their existing facility in Bensenville. Building addition willbe a steel structure with exterior CMU/Brick andstorefront enclosure. Interior work will feature a 2-storyCIP concrete learning stair and atrium that connects the existing building to the addition with classrooms that surround the space. The prequalification application is to becompleted online. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal toten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from allBidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted.Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond andLabor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal toone hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be requiredfrom the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "FAILURE TOCOMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THISINVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THEDISQUALIFICATION OF THE BIDDER". This contract calls for the construction of a "public work,"within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers andmechanics performing services on public works projectsno less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cashwages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work isperformed. For information regarding current prevailingwage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department ofLabor's website. All contractors andsubcontractors rendering services under this contractmust comply with all requirements of the Act, includingbut not limited to, all wage, notice and record keepingduties. Fenton High School District 100 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be consideredpublic information under the State Freedom of InformationAct unless specifically disclosed on the applicableinformation by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptionsshall be defended solely by the Bidder. Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened.
